2014 Newaygo Troutfest Event Results

·        This year’s 9th Annual Newaygo Troutfest raised $12,000!!!!!!

·        Many thanks to all the west Mi businesses & persons who donated merchandise for the raffle prize packages helped sell raffle tickets and made it possible for event advertising.

·        Thank you to Parsley’s Sport Shop, for hosting the fishing contest!

·        Thanks to our community for it’s HUGE support!!....It’s your $5 donations for raffle tickets that make the Troutfest be a success in reaching their monetary goal to benefit the chosen non-profit orgs!

·        Thanks to our Troutfest staff:

1.   Wendy Muir, for organizing & hosting – she has worked VERY hard and has spent “Countless” hours organizing by contacting businesses & collecting prizes, raffle ticket distribution & event scheduling! 

2.   Rachel Wisner, for donating countless hours selling raffle tickets and more!

3.   Sherri Russell, for maintaining the website, providing professional photography services for this 3 day event & organizing the Troutfest Art Exhibition.

Newaygo Troutfest 2014 Information

Welcome to the official Newaygo Troutfest website!

Be sure to watch last years video below and learn more about this community "giving back" event and plan on attending this year for our 9th annual - The Newaygo Troutfest occurs every year in the month of April (on opening weekend of Trout fishing season).

Raffle Ticket sales are essential to the success of benifiting the non-profit charitys chosen for this years event - only $5 each and available at Sportsman's Bar and other local business throughout downtown Newaygo, Mi.









Be sure to plan a visit to The Stream (downtown Newaygo) to see the art on display for the 2014 Troutfest Exhibition featuring selected students from Newaygo public schools, grades K through 12th.  Here is a "sneak peek":

Schedule For The 8th Annual Troufest In Newaygo


8th Annual Newaygo Troutfest

2013 Dates are: April 23, 25, 26 and 27
Sportsman's Bar & Restaurant will be hosting the 8th annual Newaygo Troutfest. The festivities will start on Tuesday April 23rd with a Euchre Tournament ($10 entry) at 6:00 at the VFW Post on Mason Rd... Thurs April 25th, the Sportsman's is having a live comedy show. Tickets are $8 in advance and the show starts at 8:00 p.m.  Be sure to check out the photos from each event here.

Brooks Park, in downtown Newaygo is the place to be on Friday the 26th at 5:00 for the VFW's famous fish fry, followed by the annual blessing of the poles at 6:30. In addition to the bobber races, there will be a silent auction loaded with NASCAR paraphernalia in memory of Barb & Dick Wilson.

On Saturday Parsley's Sport Shop fishing contest weigh in will be at the Sportsman's at 7:00, live minnow eating contest at 8:00,more Bobber Races, followed by the Troutfest Raffle Drawing at 9:00 then the live music with SP3 & Joe Sturgill.

6 Lucky winners will each receive a huge package prize full of gift certificates, merchandise, lodging & more all donated by local merchants. This year's recipient of the hopeful $6000 will be LOVE I.N.C. and the local VFW post 4249. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at LOVE, VFW, Sportsman's and many local merchants. A huge thanks to all the merchants and sponsors, including Newaygo Printing, Country view Auctions, Sherri Russell Photography, B&B Contractors, Independent Bank & Northern Staffing to mention a few.


The Stream, located at 1 State Rd is hosting a Troutfest Fish Art Contest that will feature art from Newaygo Public Schools (students K through12) dates April 20th thru May 4th. Stop in to see the student’s talents, and vote!  Exhibit hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Monday through Friday.
